Stifel, law firm consider moving to Ballpark Village
The developers of Ballpark Village are in advanced talks with two prospective major tenants about office space in the long-stalled $600 million project.
St. Louis-based Stifel Financial Corp. and law firm Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus, which has offices in Clayton and St. Louis, both confirmed Friday that they are talking with Cordish Co., the Baltimore-based developer of the mixed-use project next to Busch Stadium. Cordish officials could not be reached for comment.
Stifel, which in July helped broker a deal between Cordish and the city to revive the project, would likely move all of its headquarters operations into the building if a deal is reached, a spokesman said. It also may move jobs from outside St cash advance. Louis into the facility.
Polsinelli would combine its two local offices, which include about 100 lawyers and 60 support staff, at the site by 2011, a spokesman said.
Both said talks are still under way and that nothing has been finalized.
Next month, the Cardinals and Cordish are due to present a final site plan to a state board that they’ll ask for at least $115 million in tax subsidies to help fund the project.
